The word "courage" means to speak one's mind by telling one's heart. Honey Bee Courageous is my heart on display.
Honey Bee Courageous is my passion project, created from my admiration for end of life care, self-exploration, and community. As a death doula, courage catalyst, and community cultivator , I help people of all ages and health stages navigate end of life planning and teach them how to use the idea of their death as a tool to better their live’s . I help people reconnect with their hearts and educate them on how to use it as a compass to their most authentic self. Through thoughtfully curated tea parties and events, I foster safe spaces for thought-provoking conversations about life, death, and topics that call to the spirit. I have witnessed profound healing and connection when people come together with open minds, hearts, and curiosity . My hope is to inspire courage, authenticity, and a sense of magic in every person that comes to the table.

I started this journey as an end-of-life doula, hosting Death Cafes and helping people create plans for their end-of-life wishes. As I talked with people about death, I noticed something profound: these conversations brought their lives into focus. They began asking big questions and making changes. They used the idea of their own mortality as a mirror, reflecting on what needed to shift in their lives to align with their authentic selves and meet their death peacefully.
With this realization, I found myself caught between being a death doula, a life coach, and hosting tea parties on the side. I was searching for a way to tie them all together, and that’s when I discovered the common thread: courage. It takes great courage to live in your truth despite the expectations of those we love and the world around us. It also takes great courage to face one’s own death—to let go and trust in what comes next. And, oddly enough, I believe it also takes courage to accept an invitation to a tea party. To come to the table with an open mind, ready for vulnerable and honest conversations around taboo topics. With this newfound discovery, Honey Bee Courageous bloomed into being.
I now call myself a Mortali-tea Mentor. My purpose is to help people find the courage to face both life and death by using their heart as their compass, their truth as their North Star, and their spirit as the wind behind their sails. You are the captain of your ship.
I am here to help you navigate your journey.
My name is Betty Jackson, but friends call me Honey Bee.
I spent my childhood in my aunt's cozy California home, a unique space that also served as a small retirement community. From an early age, I found myself captivated by life's mysteries. Years later, I became an Activities Director at a North Carolina assisted living facility. This job provided profound experiences. These experiences taught me the importance of facing death with presence, pushing me to wholeheartedly embrace life and choose vulnerability, love, and joy. In that unique space, I discovered that death isn't to be feared; it's an integral part of life. This realization guided me to my calling as an end-of-life doula. My hope in my service as a Death Doula is to help others reflect on their own thoughts and feelings around death. For if we can alchemize our fear, death becomes the key that can unlock the potential of our lives.
